Event: Manchester United supporters will be revealing details of
the next stage of their plan to fight a takeover bid for
the club. For the first time since the campaign to
prevent Rupert Murdoch taking over in 1998, supporter
groups and fanzines are pooling their resources to
attempt to stop Cubic Expression or Malcolm Glazer – or
anyone else – from launching a takeover bid.

Supporter groups and fanzines that will be represented at the
press conference will include:

Independent Manchester United Supporters Association
Shareholders United
Red Issue
United We Stand
Red News

SU and IMUSA have already begun an awareness campaign to
respectively encourage supporters to buy shares or take
direct action against Cubic Expression tycoons John
Magnier and JP McManus.

“Far from letting this matter drop, we are determined to now step
up our campaigns – and get as many ordinary supporters
involved as we can,” said Jules Spencer, Chairman of
IMUSA.

Jules and other spokesmen will be available for interview at
tomorrow’s press conference.
